"With unemployment rates at an all time low, staff recruitment and retention became a major management focus at the beginning of 2007 for Genalysis. A lot of ideas were discussed and all agreed that educating staff in the workplace would be a positive step forward. Lab Tech Training were given the task of combining existing training practices with new, innovative training to provide employees the opportunity to gain a qualification recognised Australia wide while being employed on a full time permanent basis. This commenced in our Sample Preparation section where a number of employees signed up to study towards a Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement.

The success of that program allowed Genalysis and Lab Tech Training to expand the program to include a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills, a Certificate IV in Laboratory Practices and a Diploma in Laboratory Techniques. With the continuing assistance of Lab Tech Training, we are developing a smarter, more engaged workforce that are enjoying some non-financial benefits during their employment with Genalysis."
