At LTT, we understand that people leave the workforce for different reasons: from starting a family to illness to caring for a family member.
Eventually, most people return to the workforce – whether it’s on a full-time basis or part-time to continue with caring roles.
If you are trying to re-enter the workforce, it can be difficult to find a suitable position and utilise the skills you already have – particularly as new technologies emerge. LTT specialises in training and upgrading skills for those wanting to re-enter the workforce in the pathology, laboratory operations and general healthcare industries. We will assist you in building the necessary communication, analytical and technical skills that employers seek.
Flexible career options
A career in pathology offers excellent work-life balance for parents with young kids. Pathology collection staff, otherwise known as phlebotomists, are often employed on a part-time or casual basis with flexible hours. In fact, 45% of workers within the health care and social assistance industry are employed part-time (Australian Jobs 2016 Report, Department of Employment.)
The health care and social assistance industry also offers good employment prospects for older people returning to the workforce with 46% of workers aged 45 years and over.
Recognition of prior learning
At LTT, we recognise the skills and experiences that you already have. If you have skills and experience in nursing, caring, health care or medicine, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This means you may be able to receive credit for courses that you have previously studied or work experiences that you have had. This could mean less study time for you as well as a lower course cost. Contact us to discuss how we can help to fast track your path to employment.
Ready to retrain or upgrade your skills?
LTT have a number of courses available at our training centres to build on your current skills and fast track your path to employment and increased family income.
