CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)

Do you want to develop your career in the building and construction industry? The Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is designed to help you qualify for your Builder's Registration and become a manager in the building industry.

In this course, you will gain the managerial skills and knowledge required to plan and coordinate residential and commercial construction projects from inception to delivery. This nationally recognised qualification contributes to the minimum requirements of becoming a registered builder.

The Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) focuses on leadership and business management skills within the context of building and construction projects. This includes key mediation and critical analysis techniques. You will learn to manage the risks associated with residential and commercial projects, and gain a wide variety of skills that will allow you to supervise, manage and conduct quality assurance within the low to medium rise construction field. The course will also provide you with an in-depth insight into the engineering principles for residential and commercial construction, as well as an understanding of contract law, legislation and the latest building codes and standards.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND ENROLMENT

As part of the enrolment process, comprehensive pre-training reviews are conducted to capture current competencies including language, literacy and numeracy. This process ensures an informed decision is made regarding the suitability and relevance of the intended course of study. This process also aids in identifying individual learning styles and any support services that may be required so that training delivery can be tailored accordingly.

There are no formal entry requirements, however to study this qualification with LTT you need to:

  • Have access to a computer and the internet
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have a good understanding of written, verbal and spoken English
  • Complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment and pre-training review form at the time of prior to enrolment

Due to the content of the qualification, LTT recommends that students have 3-5 years’ experience in the building and construction industry prior to commencing study.

Training is delivered online via our student portal. Assessments include tasks and questions to test underpinning knowledge.

In the event that a student who has studied the online qualification wishes to apply for their builders’ registration, LTT offers CPCCBC4018A – Apply site surveys and set-out procedures to building and construction projects as a separate unit for an additional cost of $350.  In addition to online study, the unit includes an approximately 3 hour practical component that the student must attend at our Perth training centre (25 Colray Avenue Osborne Park WA 6017).

In the event that a student who has studied the face-to-face qualification wishes to apply for their builders’ registration, LTT offers CPCCBC4014A – Prepare simple building sketches and drawings as a separate unit for an additional cost of $250.  The unit is completed online.
