Laboratories associated with the mining industry are responsible for the metallurgical testing and quantitative analysis of a wide range of the earth’s natural resources. The services offered by metallurgical testing facilities include bench-scale extractive metallurgy, pilot plant operations and automated extraction techniques.
Construction Materials Testing (CMT) includes testing in the field and in the laboratory of materials such as soil, concrete, aggregate and rock, mostly to determine the physical and mechanical properties of a material.
Pathology laboratories are responsible for the collection and processing of pathological samples such as blood, urine and tissues, to determine underlying causes of health problems. These laboratories are accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is an important part of every industry. Over the past few years there has been a push to harmonise the current OHS legislation across all states and territories in Australia, to create a much smoother and easy to manage system.
